Overview

Well XX is a deviated well.

 

Results

It is the first well in China to conduct CO₂ profile data acquisition and interpretation using optical fibers, which has been highly recognized. This project has driven the subsequent CCUS logging of 3 more wells and laid a foundation for the large-scale application of optical fibers in CCUS projects.

 

Interpretation

Compared with the previous oxygen activation logging, the interpretation results of the main gas-absorbing intervals are basically consistent. Due to the limitation of end flow measurement, oxygen activation logging cannot identify the layered gas absorption rate when the flow rate is below 15 m³/d. However, distributed optical fibers show obvious advantages in interpreting gas absorption in intervals with low gas absorption rates and small inter-interval distances. In the well section of 2421.3–2428.0 meters (corresponding to layers 121–123), the gas absorption rate is interpreted as 3.69 m³/d based on the changes of the DTS curve, with a relative gas absorption rate of 11.3%, making this interval the main gas-absorbing interval in this logging operation.
